I'd never drawn a cow before writing this chapter and it probably shows.
I ended up working on a commission on tuesday instead of doing layouts. Still work progress I guess.
Aurochs used to go 8 feet or more at the shoulder
‘Biblical cattle’ were a lot smaller than today’s varieties
I suppose the size of the most commonly raised ones today came from breeding and re-breeding hundreds of generations to end up with something small enough to manage but big enough to get the maximum yield for the effort and cost feeding them
