This is professional quality art, a lot of people have been paid a lot of money producing things that look a lot worse.
They had well paid marketers, aka those pretentious ‘art critics’, who bought their crap then punchesd it up so they could sell it for a huge profit or drag people into their secondhand store aka ‘art gallery’ who’d buy it just to tell people they had a ‘million dollar painting’…ever seen the Mona Lisa ? I’ve seen better paint by numbers but they sold that ‘enigmatic smile’. Your art is as good as a lot of high priced poseurs, maybe better.
Sorry but there was a blurb on Maud Lewis tonight on the ‘news’, I had better stuff on the fridge my kid made in grade school. It’s not ‘rustic’ it’s overhyped crap with bad perspective, I’ve seen better on motel walls. She might be a local girl but that’s no reason to swear undying allegiance to something you don’t like just because she looks oldand decrepit, I’m older tha nshe is and don’t look half as bad if I do say so myself…someone sold the hype after buying a bunch of her paintings for 410 or so then reselling them as some iconic masterpeieces…damned shame they used her like that but that’s the art world for you.
