My monitor is still doing that thing. It’s still infrequent at least, like once every 2-3 days. I think I have to assume it’s a hardware thing but all the cable connections look good.
I might be streaming FFXIV housing stuff later, if I get the house. After I take a nap I think.

Not quite as easy as a knock spell, is it? Much more personal this way.
Forgive me for trying to help, but after 20 years and a lot of courses as a technician, I just can’t help but ‘what if’ things 🙂
If it’s an LCD display it might be the backlight bulb starting to go. More likely it’s an LED and the power supply either has an intermittent connection or it’s failing. If it were individual LED’s or clusters, there’d be little black spots where they were cutting out, not the entire screen. To me that says either power supply, or rather a power interruption of some sort, or the main screen lightbulb. Not all LED monitors have a lightbulb, but some do and they’re cheaper than a new monitor, although if you have to pay someone to install a bulb it might well be cheaper in the long run to upgrade to an entire new and probably display.
Most monitors are disposable now, people don’t even try to fix them, but it wouldn’t hurt to pop the case and look for a loose internal connection, I don’t think there are any extreme voltage issues like a CRT, most LED systems turn 115 VAC into 6 VDC but there’s still going to be wall current in there somewhere so unplug it first and watch out for capacitors, shorting one might let the smoke out and if you let the magic smoke out, electronics usually stop working. 🙂
Casting unseen servant to open the door from the inside ? nice use of an underused spell if it is 🙂
